Host Family homes are private residences where a person or family has volunteered to open their home to a person with an intellectual or developmental disability who, for various reasons, is unable or chooses not to live with their natural family.
Host Family services seek to create an environment that is flexible for everyone involved and is built on a foundation of values that reflect the love, caring, and participation that is inherent in any well-functioning family or home.
All Host Family homes connected to our organization are approved by us. Matches are made with the needs of the person supported in mind with emphasis placed on the personalities and strengths of prospective families.
Are you positive and inclusive? Would you like to make a difference in a person’s life? Consider becoming a Host Family provider. You will have support from our organization and receive the training you need.
Receive support with independent living responsibilities such as finances, home management, and developing community connections. People may live alone or choose to live with roommates. Each person supported is allocated a specific set of hours per week to help them establish and maintain a high quality of life based on a person-centred model of support.
